Abstract

Purpose: This research targets to KP Government College librarians concerning their needed talents regarding library automation along with computer essential skills and also to find out in which actual level they are. Methodology: Survey technique was used for collecting data. The questionnaire was sent to the entire 235 Government Colleges librarians KP Pakistan, where 187 retorts were gotten back. Findings: It was detected that KP College librarians were not having highly or sufficient skills in library automation and computer skills, so they are extremely in need of adopting technological aptitudes. But no such in-service training was observed. Originality: This work is done for the very first time on the KP government College librarians which gives the detail picture of their attained technological abilities regarding computer essential knowledge and library automation, in addition the desirable parts along with the areas where training is highly necessary.
